James Butler - MD. PhD., Co-Owner, CEO
Dr. Butler is a board-certified psychiatrist with more than a decade of experience in psychiatry and medical genetics. He brings a thoughtful, forward-looking approach to behavioral health care, with particular expertise in understanding how genetics can inform the development and treatment of mental health conditions. As the owner of Elsmere Psychiatry Group, he is committed to delivering an exceptional standard of care and ensuring each patient feels heard, respected, and supported.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Butler served in regional medical leadership positions, overseeing multidisciplinary care teams and advancing clinical quality initiatives across diverse behavioral health settings in Texas. He has played a key role in strengthening care models, integrating evidence-based and innovative treatment approaches, and mentoring clinicians in the delivery of patient-centered care.
Dr. Butler is deeply committed to expanding access to high-quality behavioral health services. He recognizes that mental health treatment is never one-size-fits-all and works closely with individuals and families to navigate complex challenges with clarity and compassion. His work centers on clinical excellence, innovation, and improving meaningful access to care.
Dr. Butler earned dual doctorate degrees in molecular genetics and medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed research fellowships at Harvard University’s Howard Hughes Medical Institute and UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Genesis Lee - LMSW, Co-Owner, Vice President
Genesis Lee earned her Master of Social Work from Baylor University in 2021 and is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Texas. As Co-Owner of Elsmere Psychiatry Group, she serves as a collaborative and supportive leader, bringing over 20 years of experience across diverse leadership roles. Genesis is committed to fostering clear communication, shared goals, and strong partnerships within her team and the broader community.
In addition to her leadership responsibilities, Genesis provides individual psychotherapy, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and strengths-based approaches to support clients in achieving meaningful growth and lasting change.
Outside of her professional work, Genesis enjoys caring for her family and several dogs in Dallas, Texas.
