At Elsmere Psychiatry, we believe that mental healthcare comes in all sizes. While intimate, personalized care is always an option, being around like-minded individuals in a group setting led by a licensed professional can help you along your journey in a big way.

Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy Workshop
Psychoeducation
Wednesdays @ 6:30pm
September 30th - November 11th
This 6-week, structured, closed group is designed to provide a collaborative environment where participants can develop practical skills for understanding and managing difficult thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
The goal is to increase awareness of unhelpful thought patterns and develop strategies to either challenge them or use mindfulness to create greater distance from them. Topics may include identifying and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, exploring core beliefs, managing difficult emotions, and gradually changing behaviors that may be contributing to or maintaining distress. Sessions will include discussion, psychoeducation, guided exercises, and between-session practice to help participants apply and reinforce the CBT skills introduced in the group.
What can I expect?
With a closed group, the same participants will attend throughout the course, allowing members to build familiarity, trust, and a sense of safety within the group. The therapist will lead a guided discussion, introducing a new topic weekly, and providing space to practice new skills. Regular attendance, confidentiality, active participation, and practicing skills between sessions will be encouraged. Participants will be encouraged to share and participate at a level that feels comfortable for them while also learning from the experiences of others.
This group is taught and moderated by a licensed clinical social worker, Megan Prahl. She is a licensed LCSW in both Texas and Indiana. Participants must be Texas or Indiana residents to sign up.

Navigating Loss
during the Holidays
Support & Psychoeducation
Saturdays at 11:30am
November 14th - December 12th
Holidays can bring a mix of emotions, memories, expectations, and challenges, and grief may feel especially present during a time that is often portrayed as joyful and celebratory.
This closed group is designed to provide a supportive and compassionate space for exploring the experience of loss during the holiday season. The group may explore topics such as identifying and expressing emotions, handling expectations from others, setting healthy boundaries, creating new traditions, and finding ways to honor what—or who—has been lost. The course focuses on developing greater understanding, self-compassion, and practical coping skills while making room for both grief and meaningful moments during the season.
What can I expect?
Because this is a closed group, the same participants will attend throughout the course, allowing members to build familiarity, trust, and a sense of safety within the group. Throughout the course, participants can expect to learn practical tools for navigating grief, managing difficult emotions, and coping with holiday traditions, gatherings, and reminders of loss. Participants should come prepared to reflect, learn, listen, and support one another in a respectful and confidential group environment.
This group is taught and moderated by a licensed clinical social worker, Megan Prahl. She is a licensed LCSW in both Texas and Indiana. Participants must be Texas or Indiana residents to sign up.

Dialectical Behavioral
Therapy Workshop
Psychoeducation
Tuesdays @ 6:30pm
January 12th, 2027 - February 23rd, 2027
This 7-week skills-building course is designed to help participants develop practical skills for managing difficult emotions, improving relationships, tolerating distress, and becoming more mindful of their thoughts and behaviors. Sessions will include education about DBT concepts, group discussion, skills practice, and opportunities to apply these skills to everyday situations. Because the course takes place in a group setting, participants will have opportunities to share experiences, practice skills, and learn from others who may be working through similar challenges.
What can I expect?
Participants can expect a supportive and respectful environment with the same group members throughout the course. Regular attendance, confidentiality, active participation, and practicing skills between sessions will be encouraged. While participants may have opportunities to share personal experiences, the primary focus of the group will be on learning and practicing DBT skills rather than processing individual concerns in depth. Our goal is for participants to leave the course with increased ability to manage emotions in ways that are more intentional and effective, as well as develop greater confidence in applying skills to everyday situations.
